The Estate
Algodon Wine Estates is a boutique winery nestled in San Rafael, Mendoza; the southern heart of Argentina's wine country. Our vineyards are organically cultivated utilizing the purest glacial runoff from the snowcapped Andes Mountains, and by traditional irrigational methods developed by the land's indigenous peoples. Our quality grapes are primed year-round, and are carefully hand harvested at their peak maturity and optimum tannin levels. Our most mature vines were planted in 1946 and produce grapes of incredible quality. Yet even amongst these, only specially selected vines can provide our winery with the best quality grapes for our annual harvest.Our remarkable estate includes the celebrated wine and golf resort; "Viñas del Golf", the first championship golf course in Argentina to be surrounded by vineyards. Algodon Wine Estates encompasses over 2,050 acres (830 ha) of picturesque terrain that harmoniously intermingles with working vineyards, fruit, olive, and nut orchards, natural water reserves, and spectacular tree-lined roads. Some of the property's original structures, whose elegant rustic style adds a certain element of charm and comfort to the estate's overall character, date as far back as 1921. The surrounding resort and golf course frame this vineyard estate, creating an alluring sanctuary of relaxation and tranquility.
Our extraordinary estate embraces the utilization of biodynamic crops, permaculture design concepts, self-sufficient management, and a strong vision of environmental protection. We are also committed to creating and sustaining a better quality of life for our estate residents, as well as the local community, by ensuring that our estate, and the agriculture that it produces, is ecologically sound.
