Malbec 2004

Deep purple in color with crimson tones. The nose instantly betrays the varietal and gives an explosive, complex aroma of red fruits and a slight smokiness. On the palate it juicily brings together a delicious sweet/acid/tannic sensation, while its complex flavors linger in the after-taste.

Pairing: This wine will go well with grilled red meat, dishes accompanied by Malbec-based red wine sauces, pastas, risotto with mushrooms, and even chocolate desserts.

Malbec originates from the Bordeaux region of France where it is generally used for blending with Cabernet and Merlot. In Argentina however, the story is quite different. Malbec is considered the premier grape of Argentina, where it has found its true home. Argentina's sun drenched climate has garnered for this varietal the world-wide acclaim of wine-lovers. Characterized by a spicy, dark fruit, Argentina Malbecs can be complex, intense, and worthy of aging.
